Clacify's Number to Words converter writes any number as words using the Indian numbering system — lakhs and crores — as used in Indian bank cheques, invoices, and legal documents. For example, 12,50,000 becomes 'Twelve Lakh Fifty Thousand Only'. It also supports the international system (millions, billions) for comparison. The Indian numbering system groups digits differently from the Western system: 1,00,000 = One Lakh (100 thousand), 10,00,000 = Ten Lakh (1 million), 1,00,00,000 = One Crore (10 million). After crore, the next major unit is 100 Crore = One Arab. Commas are placed after the first 3 digits from the right, then every 2 digits.
