Generate URL-friendly slugs from any text
Built & maintained by Pappu Venkata Subbi Reddy, founder of Clacify
Clacify's Slug Generator converts any title, heading, or phrase into a URL-friendly slug — lowercase, spaces replaced with hyphens, special characters removed, and multiple hyphens collapsed. For example, 'How to Calculate EMI in India 2025?' becomes 'how-to-calculate-emi-in-india-2025'. Clean URL slugs improve SEO, are easier to share, and are required by most CMS platforms (WordPress, Webflow, Ghost, Strapi).
A URL slug is the part of a URL that identifies a specific page, typically derived from the page title. For example, in 'https://www.clacify.com/tools/emi-calculator', the slug is 'emi-calculator'. Slugs should be lowercase, hyphen-separated, and contain only letters, numbers, and hyphens — no spaces, accents, or special characters.
Use your primary keyword in the slug. Keep it short (3–5 words). Use hyphens between words, not underscores. Remove stop words (a, an, the, in, of) unless they're part of the keyword phrase. Avoid dates unless the content is time-specific. Example: 'how-to-calculate-bmi-india' is better than 'how-to-calculate-body-mass-index-for-indians-2025'.
